Britannia had an excellent day at the lakes, good weather and good company, halfway through the match a finger buffet was brought round to all the anglers by the wives and friends of the Trust. Some good carp were landed, there was a bit of sportsmanship going on between Ryan who is 12years.his dad Gary.

At the end of the match we all enjoyed a BBQ before the prize giving and the raffle draw.

The man of the match was young Ryan who also won the prize for the best fish.

Sponsored 24hr Match is an important event for the Manderson Trust, everyone that took part carried a bounty for the Trust and were keen to take part and enjoy the challenge and camaraderie that takes over at these types of events.

The weather was fair and favourable giving the angler a keen interest at all times. As the day progressed towards evening, the large Carp began to show signs that it was going to be a lively night. David Banks kicked it off by catching a mirror carp. Several other anglers soon followed with catches as the night went on. At the weigh-in, it was very close.

It’s the first time that lake 1 had been used for a match since being made match angler friendly, with its new fishing platforms.

The match went well but had an air of uneasiness’ at the start to say the least.

Anglers soon over come their tensions catching the prolific small Carp and Rudd, I’m sure this lake will be a poplar venue for matches in the future, the weather was bright with over cast cloud making conditions favourable.

The match was well-supported 22 Anglers found it hard going, most probably due to the heavy rain the night before. Roach and Rudd were coming out in dribs and drabs but then cooled of for most of the remaining match, Carp were not to be seen until later in the match, one angler did have a run but it lead to nothing. The winning weights were low but I sure the weather had a lots to do with it. A dry bright, part sunny day on the whole.

Ian’s Tyres & Exhaust Centre Match 23 May 2004. The first of our Sponsored Matches, we had an excellent day most anglers had good catches although no carp were netted, mostly all small Roach and Rudd were in the nets. Weather very bright and sunshine through the day.

Match was well represented Roach and Rudd were the most prolific fish going into the nets, the weather was very bright with full sunlight. But as the day progress the Carp were being netted which overwhelmed those silver fish anglers.

2004 Match Results

The Trust has had its first match 2nd May Pairs Open Match, we had good support, 24 people took part giving us 12 pairs. Although plenty of Roach and Rudd were caught, the two Carp that was caught overwhelmed those weights.
