Failure to provide a valid Environment Agency rod license could result in prosecution (maximum fine £2,500)
If you do not hold a current rod license, then you can purchase one from The Manderson Trust, at your local post office or on the Environment Agency website. The area is regularly visited by Environment Agents so please be warned – do not get caught without a license!!
Anyone aged 12 years and above who fish for salmon, trout and freshwater fish or eels in England and Wales must have an Environment Agency Rod Fishing License.
One rod license permits you to fish with up to two rods and line at any one time for coarse fish and eels, but with only one rod and line for trout, sea trout, char and salmon. An additional license is required if you wish to fish with more than two rods.

Children under 12 years of age do not require a rod fishing license.

- Long-term incapacity benefit
- Short-term incapacity benefit (at the higher rate)
- Severe disablement allowance
- A war pension which includes unemployability supplement
